Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A specialized part-time role is available to provide physical therapy services within a K-12 educational setting. This position involves working across multiple schools, delivering both consultative and direct therapy interventions to a diverse student population ranging from preschool through high school. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and well-being of approximately 40 students across seven school sites within the district. Location: Primarily based in Oakland, CA, with responsibilities spanning schools in Pittsburg, CA. Work Schedule: Part-time position, approximately 18 to 22.5 hours per week. Key Responsibilities: Provide physical therapy assessments and treatments to students with varying needs across preschool to high school age groups. Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs). Offer consultative services to support student participation and access within the school environment. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy goals and methods as necessary. Participate in team meetings, offering expertise to enhance student outcomes. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and district policies. Qualifications: Licensed Physical Therapist with credentials to work in a school setting. Experience providing pediatric physical therapy services in educational environments preferred. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with school staff and families. Ability to manage multiple assignments across various school locations efficiently.
