Primary Function:The Assistant Controller will be responsible for preparing and reporting financial performance results to meetinternal and external financial reporting requirements, field inquiries and prepare periodic presentations. TheAssistant Controller will oversee the financial processing, reconciling and reporting of several US subsidiaries.Values:To perform the job successfully, the incumbent's behavior must be consistent with the PRIDE values expected ofall Mastronardi Produce employees: be Passionate; have Respect; be Innovative; be Driven and strive forExcellence.Primary Responsibilities:--- Prepare and review month end financial processing, for Mastronardi Produce and subsidiaries, includingreconciliation of accounts, preparation of supporting schedules, adjusting entries, variance and ratioanalysis and financial statement review.--- Preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements, including multiple currency reporting.--- Prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting package, including financialstatements, executive summary and board presentation.--- Prepare short and long-term trend reports, including working capital, capital spending and profitability andcommunicate concisely to identify the current trends and potential future impacts.--- Have a vital role in the preparation of the annual budgeting process, including pre-budget analysis andresearch.--- Prepare and update ongoing operational and department spending forecasts.--- Participate in the annual external audit, tax preparation and be involved with periodic regulatory requests.Education/Background Requirements:--- Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.--- CPA designation preferredSpecific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required--- Strong analytical (quantitative as well as qualitative) skills including performing analysis, identifying rootcauses of variances and reporting results concisely are required.--- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel--- Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting withexecutive-level management.--- Experience with financial modelling including scenario, sensitivity and ratio analysis.--- Previous experience at an assistant controller level or relevant experience is preferred.--- Experience with Microsoft Navision preferred.--- Experience with consolidation reporting software applicationWorking Conditions:--- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.EducationRequiredBachelors or betterPreferredMasters or betterBehaviorsPreferredDedicated: Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrityDetail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done wellMotivationsPreferredFlexibility: Inspired to perform well when granted the ability to set your own schedule and goalsAbility to Make an Impact: Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization
