Operating within the core values and operating principles of the organization, the Director, Direct Marketing Operations will implement and manage campaigns from launch to completion. A focus will be put on ensuring timely and accurate delivery of assets, operational efficiency, and maintaining strong relationships with all internal and external partners.
Responsibilities

  • Manages overall direct mail operations working with internal support staff and vendors to ensure on-time mailings, maintain sufficient material inventories, optimizing bundling/scheduling, and seeking efficiencies in all areas.
  • Works with Direct Marketing, Corporate Marketing & Brand teams to create, maintain and publish an expert mail schedule including testing strategies, creative assignments codes, plan quantities, volumes, and timelines.
  • Utilizes campaign management metadata and tools to access database to create segment counts, test and validation tables, approval files.
  • Manages team responsible for PO generation within stated contract parameters and process invoices including direct mail postage expenses; maintains clear records and reports on variances and trends against budget as well as needed volumes for sales targets and customer acquisition goals.
  • Responsible for quality control, budget, and scheduling while managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Catalogs direct mail content versions, toll-free numbers, and response channel information and manages multi-step approval processes ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Works with senior management to oversee vendor vetting, annual vendor reviews, and approval process (VRM), contracts, change orders (Cos) and SLAs.
  • Manages workflow & timelines from Audience Selection team & Analytics teams to production facilities, trafficking facilities, or media buying agencies as needed.
  • Fosters and develops strong relationships with members of your team and vendors to deliver deliverables efficiently and effectively.
  • Creates detailed schedules and set deadlines for each stage of a project along with tasks assigned appropriately at each step of the process.
  • Conducts regular status meetings with the team to gather information, share progress, identify roadblocks, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Routinely audits the effectiveness of all operations and systems; investigates new process improvements to increase efficiencies.

    Qualifications
    Required Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, or business-related field.
    • Proficient with project management software.
    • 10 years of experience, preferably at a Direct Marketing organization. Ideally in Marketing Operations and/or project management.
    • Excellent analytical thinking, problem solving, organizational and time management skills.
    • Expert user of SQL, Excel, and some modeling software.

      *For the states of California, Colorado, New York and Washington the pay scale is $135,538 to $203,308 and pay scales may vary based upon location.
