Supports a shared leadership philosophy and the professional practice model for patient care services.PERFORMANCE DUTIESFunctions as a role model in a clinical specialty and acquires and maintains current knowledge and competency in nursing professional and development practiceExcellent project management skills, able to take projects through to completion.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to foster strong, positive, collaborative and cooperative relationships with other physicians, nurses, healthcare team members and leadership team membersCollects data and information related to educational needs and other pertinent situationsAnalyzes issues, trends, and supporting data to determine the educational needs of individuals, organizations and communitiesIdentifies the target audience, general purpose and educational objectives, and desired outcomes for each learning activity.Establishes plans that describe the strategies, alternatives, and resources to achieve expected outcomesEnsures that planned educational activities are implemented.Conducts a comprehensive evaluation of each educational activityCoordinates educational initiatives and activitiesEmploys strategies and techniques to promote positive learning and practice environmentsEvaluates progress toward attainment of outcomesSystematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing professional practiceDesigns, develops and evaluates programs for new nurse orientation and for the ongoing professional education/development of experienced professional nurses and support staffAssists in the implementation/in-service of new products and equipmentParticipates in ongoing quality monitoring, policy review, and process improvement activities related to nursing, professional practice and developmentEstablishes collegial partnerships contributing to professional development of peers, students, colleagues and othersServes as a resource to managers and staff for educational and instructional needs. EducationGraduation from an accredited Nursing Program.BSN requiredMaster's preferredB. Licensure/CredentialsRegistered Nurse in State of MichiganCertification in clinical specialty or educational area completed or active plans to pursueC. Training and ExperiencePrevious proven experience and expertise in clinical areas relevant to units/patient populationServes as an expert clinical resource to staff in population-specific areas for ensuring quality of care and patient/family satisfactionSpecialized training in education of staff and competency validationTwo (2) years clinical nursing experience in identified or related specialtyUnderstanding the use of standard desktop and windows based computer system, including a basic understanding of email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation.
