Senior Product Engineer eAxle - for eLin Propulsion Pursuit Team The Senior Product Engineer will act as a leading figure in the product design process and will lead activities for the eLin Pursuit team whose primary goal it is to win new business.
Key Responsibilities - - - - - - -Lead the design, development and validation of product adhering to engineering disciplines with minimal supervision. - - - - - - -Perform standard engineering analysis (stacks, calculations, interfacing with Core Eng. Groups). - - - - - - -Execute work tasks in a planned and methodical manner. - - - - - - -Prioritize, manage and delegate work tasks to supporting Product Engineers. - - - - - - -Lead the development of engineering drawings and specifications. - - - - - - -Provide mentoring to supporting Product Engineers. - - - - - - -Coordinate material selection with material specialist. - - - - - - -Manage DVP&R execution by coordinating with cross functional team. - - - - - - -Drive engineering adherence of Linamar launch process (CFLP) for program execution. - - - - - - -Recognize and lead technical problem resolution using problem solving techniques such as 8-D,IS/IS-NOT, fishbone, Red X and 6-Panels. - - - - - - -Lead customer technical meetings and presentations. - - - - - - -Lead internal design reviews to meet program milestones. - - - - - - -Lead DFMEA activity for the responsible products. - - - - - - -Lead DFM/DFA activities with Linamar manufacturing plants and suppliers to assure manufacturing feasibility of designs. - - - - - - -Support quote process for design changes. - - - - - - -Participate/Lead Value Analysis/Value Engineering activities. - - - - - - -Manage CAD and CAE support of projects. - - - - - - -This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of this position and it is not intended to be an exhaustive list of skills, efforts, duties, responsibilities or working conditions associated with the position. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. - -Minimum Requirements: - - - - - - -Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Bachelor's in Engineering Technology or equivalent. - - - - - - -Master of Science in Engineering is preferred. - - - - - - -Minimum of 5 years engineering experience. - - - - - - -Proficient with GD&T, dimensional tolerancing and tolerance stacks. - - - - - - -Strong decision-making skills with the ability to grasp technical concepts. - - - - - - -Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (i.e. casting, forging, machining and assembly). - - - - - - -Ability to prioritize and work multiple tasks to completion. - - - - - - -Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment. - - - - - - -Experience writing technical specifications, validation test procedures and test reports. - - - - - - -Experience with CAD/CAE is desirable. ---Desired Characteristics: - - - - - - -Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (i.e. casting, forging, machining and assembly). - - - - - - -Ability to prioritize and work multiple tasks to completion. - - - - - - -Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment. - - - - - - -Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure clear and effective group communication with fellow engineers, customers, sales and manufacturing. - - - - - - -Proficient with application of DFMEA, DVPR and Control Plans. - - - - - - -MS Office proficient. - - - - - - -Strong analytical skills with ability to conduct engineering calculations, use/support predictive software tools and accurate definition of load/boundary conditions for CAE. - - - - - - -Experience writing technical specifications, validation test procedures and test reports. - - - - - - -Experience with CAD/CAE is desirable.
