Job Description:

Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Director, Experience Design.

The Director is a senior leadership position with the skills and experience to lead our largest, most strategic engagements while also serving as a key participant in the business leadership of the business unit. This individual will have overall responsibility for the strategic leadership of client engagements from a delivery perspective. Additionally, work closely with the Business Developer, and be responsible for ongoing client development and relationship management activities. This position can be worked remotely with occassional travel to client sites.

About Our Experience Design Group

Perficient's Experience Design group is purpose-built to help companies who believe that Customer Experience (CX) is the defining strategic imperative of our day. Our full-service offering is flexible and designed to tackle our customers' ever-changing, ever-increasing business challenges, making sure our execution never fails the strategic vision. These things are not mutually exclusive; we see them as one. Guiding choices, inspiring opportunities and fueling the customer experience takes clarity. But an increasingly noisy, complex business environment often clouds the vision of marketers today. The Age of the Customer is here to stay - for many, a "make or break" business environment where every customer interaction shapes your brand, day in, day out. Make or break . . . Proud to say we're skilled at the former.

At Perficient you'll deliver mission-critical technology and business solutions to Fortune 500 companies and some of the most recognized brands on the planet. And you'll do it with cutting-edge technologies, thanks to our close partnerships with the world's biggest vendors. Our network of offices across North America, as well as locations in India and China, will give you the opportunity to spread your wings, too.

We're proud to be publicly recognized as a "Top Workplace" year after year. This is due, in no small part, to our entrepreneurial attitude and collaborative spirit that sets us apart and keeps our colleagues impassioned, driven, and fulfilled.

As a Director, you will be one of the core leaders of the Experience Design team. Your focus will be both internal - contributing to the vision, growth, and operations of our team, as well as external - leading our teams in the creation of exceptional solutions for our customers. You will be a fierce advocate for user-centered design as you lead sales pursuits, promote Perficient and Experience Design through marketing efforts, foster customer relationships, and deliver innovative work. As a mentor and manager, you will focus on elevating the maturity of our design organization, implementing practices and constructs that will ensure valuable growth. As a leader of this team, you will foster an inclusive and collaborative environment that values all perspectives and insights and promotes the creation of innovative and meaningful digital experiences.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities will align with five key areas:

Collaborate on defining future direction of the Experience Design team
Provide design thought leadership both internally and externally through messaging, sales and strategy materials and IP development
Partner with Perficient business units to establish processes and foster shared success
Contribute to marketing efforts via blogging, case studies, and events

Rapidly understand a potential client's needs and outline a vision appropriate for the budget, ask, and core user needs
Confidently communicate the role, purpose, and benefits of Experience Design to our customers and colleagues
Identify opportunities in existing accounts through relationship building and strategic recommendations
Document scope and generate estimates for new projects

Lead teams across a range of customer engagements ensuring quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
Formulate teams and processes best suited for each customer engagement
Provide design direction and feedback that considers user and business needs, best practices, and innovation opportunities
Facilitate client workshops and drive clients to thoughtful, considered decisions
Manage customer and team expectations and handle escalations as needed
Build and cultivate customer relationships, seek feedback and offer strategic recommendations

Help manage designer availability and utilization
Support financial and forecasting activities
Lead and evangelize internal initiatives aimed at improving quality, performance, and growth
Collaborate with Experience Design directors to set goals and plan for the future of the business unit
Manage internal performance reviews and contribute constructive feedback

You are not expected to be an expert in every single area, but you should have the ability to identify appropriate team members and provide feedback to ensure a quality process and experience.
