Responsibilities/Qualifications:
At Pet Supplies Plus our vision is to make it easier to find better products for your pets. Our Category Manager position is key in bringing this vision to life. As a Category Manger for Pet Supplies Plus, you will plan, select and purchase key programs, items and brands for a merchandising category.The Category Manger key responsibilities include:Driving sales and margin for assigned categoryExecuting Pet Partner negotiations for product cost, and distribution for existing and new itemsCreating annual and monthly plans for category sales and margin growthManaging assortment and planogram management for new and maintained brands and itemsPlanning promotional strategies for in-store and eCommerce. Work closely with manufacturers and marketing to ensure engaging and strong messaging to neighbors and to the store teamsDeveloping strong partnerships with internal and external teams; store teams, operations, inventory, marketing, manufacturers, and distributorsUnderstanding and analyzing the competition, category trend and industry data to ensure market share growth for Pet Supplies PlusPartnering with inventory planners and logistics to ensure in-stock flow, and distribution for a categoryPAWSOME Category Manger candidates will have:A Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience Minimum 8 years related experience Strong strategic, analytical, and financial acumenStrong written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of MS ExcelAbility to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlinesSelf motivationand results orientation with the ability to function effectively as a part of a cross functional team yet work independentlyAbility to travel to stores, manufacturers, and trade shows Approximately 5% travel required
