Job Description:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all aspects of HR including payroll. The position is located at General Fastener's headquarters in Livonia, Michigan, and supports the headquarters and 11 branch locations. Will also support the company's foreign locations as needed.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years' experience in HR in progressive levels of responsibility
  • Two years' experience in payroll
  • Two years' experience in supervision or a lead role
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint & Word
  • Expertise with ADP Workforce Now and ADP eTime
  • Expertise in US laws as related to Payroll & Human Resources
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing job requirements
  • Able to gather data, compile information and prepare reports

        DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
        • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
        • Oversees payroll administration and monitors all payroll tasks to ensure payroll processes are completed accurately and timely. Conducts audits and implements changes to ensure accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations.
        • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department.
        • Responds to requests by agencies for employment and/or payroll information such as unemployment offices, welfare organizations, garnishment agencies, etc.
        • Implements and updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts salary surveys; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
        • Recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment.
        • Reviews and ensures all HR and payroll functions comply with all applicable laws and regulations, on the federal and state levels. Ensures all requires reports are filed with the appropriate entities as expected, including but not limited to EEO-1, W-2s, OSHA logs, etc., and maintains other records, reports and logs required by the law and/or the company.
        • Conducts recruitment activities for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors and hiring managers to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors performance management program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
        • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as needed. Maintains organizational charts and other employee rosters.
        • Drives standardization practices throughout the organization.
        • Mentor and coach managers and supervisors to address employee relations issues
        • Promotes training to optimize talent, ensure functional coverage, reduce labor costs
        • Manage costs in accordance with budgets and strategic goals.
        • Performs other duties as assigned.
