Responsibilities:
- Lead the global team in design, development and implementation
of traction inverters for battery electric vehicle
applications
- Manage the local EE team members and direct the activities of
the global team members via their local leaders
- Mentor team members in all aspects of circuit design, testing
methods, worst case analysis, and design demonstrations
- Prepare and lead design reviews with OEM customers and global
design teams
- Specify and characterize the key components in automotive
vehicle traction inverters, such as power modules, capacitors, and
sensors
- Lead and coordinate loss measurements for components and
inverter system, and verification of simulation against
measurements
- Interface with component suppliers on component selection and
future generation component development
- Specify component reliability goal and conduct lifetime
analysis and simulations
- Lead and coordinate component failure analysis with
supplier
- Facilitate technical discussions and communicate issues clearly
and effectively between the North American customer and the global
project teams
- Review and approve DFMEA, WCCA, design demos, and other
engineering documents
- Support vehicle integration and resolve quality issues
Requirements:
- BS, MS degree in Engineering
- 10+ years of design engineering experience on power electronic
products, preferably in automotive traction inverter design
- Expert at circuit design, modeling and simulation.
- Hands-on experience with all aspects of real-time
microprocessors
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Understanding of automotive product development processes
- Deep understanding of electronic module and component quality
requirement, reliability prediction, failure analysis and
validation
- Strong problem solving skills. Familiar with tools such as 8D,
fishbone diagram, 5 Whys, DoE, Is/Is-not
