        POSITION PURPOSE

        In collaboration with corporate leaders and local communities, the CEO has the authority, responsibility and accountability for executive leadership and operational direction for Trinity Health Senior Communities (THSC), a National Health Ministry (NHM). As a member of the Continuing Care Senior Leadership Team, actively engages in the creation and execution of strategies that enhance Trinity Health's impact within its market area. As the accountable executive for THSC, responsible for the development and implementation of strategic and operating plans that align with regional objectives, reflect community needs, achieve organizational goals and advance the philosophy, mission and vision of Trinity Health. Fosters an environment that promotes and ensures excellence in the care experience and operational efficiencies within a variety of delivery settings. As the executive leader, provides leadership and guidance to the THSC senior leadership team, enabling collaborative planning, innovation and decision-making.

        Creates an organizational culture that celebrates diversity and a community of committed persons serving the healing ministry with focus on competencies that support values of respect, social justice, care of the poor and underserved, compassion and excellence. Ensures effective governance and establishes a participative management and engaged organizational climate that develops and maintains talent and inclusiveness within THSC and throughout the system.

        The position will be based out of our System Office located in Livonia, Michigan. A full relocation package is offered for the selected candidate. This position is not a remote or hybrid role.

        ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

        Cultural Alignment: Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the Trinity Health mission, vision, and values in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.

        Senior Leadership: Serves as a member of the Continuing Care Senior Leadership Team charged with the creation of continuing care strategies that reflect the needs of the market area and the priorities of Trinity Health. Collaborates with regional executives, system office colleagues and other NHM presidents & CEOs to achieve national, regional and system objectives. Seeks out, embraces and capitalizes on the advantages of national, regional and system resources.

        Trinity Senior Living Communities Direction: Reports to and is accountable to the EVP and Chief Operating Officer for Trinity Health and to the Continuing Care Board of Directors. Accountable for the selection, evaluation and overall success of the THSC senior leadership team.

        Trinity Health Senior Communities Performance: Responsible and accountable for executive leadership and directly supervises the THSC senior leadership team ensuring the achievement of financial and operational results with a focus on excellence in personalized care in a variety of delivery settings, e.g. nursing homes, assisted living and independent living. Champions change management, operational improvement and growth initiatives.

        Strategic Thinking: Oversees the analysis of community needs and the development of supportive programs and services, especially for the poor, populations at risk and the underserved. Collaborates with regional and hospital CEOs in optimizing the delivery of senior living services within their markets. Leads the plan for strategic capital requests and/or infrastructure upgrades.

        Stewardship: Responsible for stewarding resources effectively and achieving financial forecasts. Financial performance includes focusing on shortfall ministries, reducing operating costs and pursuing action plans to achieve forecasted results.

        Mergers and Acquisitions: In collaboration with Trinity's merger, transition and acquisition (MT&A) department, leads the process to evaluate MT&A opportunities and integrates acquired and merged organizations into THSC. Identifies synergies and operational efficiencies and leads the team to achieve them.

        Service Delivery: Ensures the coordination of actions and activities that drive increased quality and responsiveness to patient/resident needs.

        Mission and Diversity: Develops and sustains an organizational culture that celebrates a diverse community of committed persons serving the healing ministry with focus on developing competencies that support values of respect, social justice, care of the poor and underserved, compassion and excellence.

        Talent Development: Participates in succession planning and supports talent development initiatives within the Trinity Health organization. Employs participative management and leadership approaches that optimize organizational resources, talent effectiveness and organizational learning.

        Community: Leads applicable governance processes and works with community leaders to advance the mission of Trinity Health's strategic and philanthropic plans. Actively participates in associations and groups within the marketplace. Establishes and maintains relationships with key community and state leaders to facilitate the accomplishment of regional and system goals and objectives.

        Corporate Operations: Possess an overall understanding of Trinity's System Office and continuing care system office functions essential to achieving maximum operational performance.

        Regulatory and Compliance: Has the responsibility to maintain a high level of compliance with applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

                    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

                    Must possess a thorough knowledge of healthcare management principles and techniques as normally obtained through a Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Business or a related field, Master's Degree preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years of management experience in continuing care healthcare that includes long term care and post-acute care. At least five (5) years' experience in a senior leadership role.

                    Must possess strong knowledge of senior living business, with experience with and knowledge of the sales and marketing process.

                    Advanced business and executive leadership skills to develop new or enhance existing clinical and operational strategies, business plans, policies and programs.

                    Experience in working with a complex matrixed organization preferred. Must be able to operate effectively in a collaborative, shared leadership environment

                    Extensive knowledge and understanding of current health care trends and practices within senior living.

                    Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and business acumen.

                    Ability to identify, create and foster an organizational culture that is supportive of and

                    builds upon the Trinity Health faith-based traditions and vision for a healing ministry.

                    Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and a heart for seniors with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health.

                    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

                    Must be able to balance, manage and adapt to frequently changing work priorities, and be able to prioritize and balance the requirements of working with the System Office and National Health Ministries (NHMs).

                    Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health sites as needed, based out of Livonia, Michigan System Office.
