DESCRIPTION ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including but not
limited to the following. • Interviews patients to explain MRI
procedures, obtain pertinent exam history • Verify the patient has
no implanted objects or devices that may be contradicted for MRI
procedure and obtains clearance information and scanning guidelines
on any MRI conditional devices. • Position patients on scanner
table and places proper coil over area of interest, confirms
patient’s comfort and operation of emergency bulb with patient. •
Observes patient through window of control room to monitor patient
safety and comfort. • Demonstrates use of microphone that allows
patient and technologist to communicate during examination. •
Performs studies following protocols requested by the Radiologist
and/or Referring Physician. • Reviews images for proper anatomical
coverage, quality, and motion. • Gains IV access and performs
injections as needed. • Verifies correct patient data and correct
exam is being performed by reviewing patients order form from
referring physician. • Keys commands to specify scan sequence
parameters into computer. • Displays competency with RIS and PACS
systems. • Has the ability to make Viewer and DICOM CD using
current CD Burning software. • Import outside CDs to expedite
dictation. • Maintains safe work area according to ACR White Paper
on MR Safety. • Ability to work independently and in team/group
situations • Attendance at meetings and training sessions may be
required. These sessions could occasionally be scheduled outside of
your regular working hours to accommodate business needs and

EXPERIENCE • Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic
Technology from a JRCERT accredited college or technical school. •
One-year related experience and/or training or equivalent
combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES,
REGISTRATIONS • Must be ARRT registered in Radiologic Technology
with advanced certification in MRI or Associate in Applied Science
and ARRT registered MRI Technologist. • If not registered in MRI,
must pass ARRT advanced level certification exam within one (1)
year of position start date. • Continuing education in accordance
with the ARRT, ACR, and State of Michigan. Certification in CPR and
Blood Borne Pathogens LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret
documents such as physician orders, exam reports, operatingand
maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and safety rules.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
COMPUTER SKILLS Must possess basic computer skills including but
not limited to data entry, word processing and email
correspondence. REASONING ABILITY Ability to analyze patient care
situations and adapt actions/procedures based on the conditions of
the patient. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here
are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT Well lighted, comfortable working
environment. Working in a high magnetic field area. Possible
exposure to patients with infectious diseases. Possible exposure to
hazardous materials per department/MSDS listing. Occasional
fluctuation in work schedule to meet
patient/department/organizational needs. Concentration on details
with frequent interruptions/distractions. Monday-Friday;
8:00AM-5:00PM Full-time (32-40 hours per week); Hourly
(Non-exempt)
